AMV Greater Sacramento established

Friday October 25, 2013 evening  was a historic evening in Sacramento when a prominent community members of American Muslim community  gathered  at the invitation of Mr. Asif Sattar at  his palatial home for dinner on behalf of  A.M.V.  (American Muslim Voice Foundation).  Sacramento_board

This dinner actually was as a follow up to previous  few meetings and the purpose was to formalize the process  of  establishing a chapter of the organization in Sacramento California. 

The AMV Foundation was founded by American Muslims  about a decade ago  to work for and with ALL Americans. Basic mission of the AMV Foundation is  to foster friendship among all Americans of different cultural, ethnic and religious background.

It may be recalled that on Friday  Oct.11,2013 in a community meeting an advisory board of selected from among the prominent members of the community was formed.

In the Friday get together  Mr. Khalid Saeed,  National President of the American Muslim Voice Foundation, introduced  the five-member board of director of the Sacramento chapter.

Entrepreneur Mr. Asif Sattar is the President of the new Sacramento Chapter and  Mr. Javaid Akhtar of  Welcome Insurance Agency of Nationwide is the Vice President.  Dr. Wajahat Khan is the Secretay , Mr. Javaid Iqbal is the treasurer and Dr. Muhammad Tariq  is the additional member of the board., Mr. Syed Saif Zia also joined the advisory board and will have additional responsibility as a coordinator of specific important activities and will work actively and closely with the board.

Mr. Khalid Saeed also announced that later the board will be expanded and new members from the youth and ladies will be included as well. An appeal was made that if any member of the community  would like to work for the betterment of humanity and  serve the community then  please come forward and join AMV as a volunteer .

The AMV Founding Executive Director, Samina Sundas, who traveled from Palo Alto to attend the dinner briefly talked about the past and currently on going AMV projects. She also answered some of the questions.

All participants enthusiastically took part in the discussion and expressed their opinion.

 All members pledged to proactively plan result oriented projects and actively work on them with deadlines to achieve the goals and objectives.

Mr. Abdus Sattar Ghazali, a member of the central board of AMV and also the communication director of AMV, could not attend the meeting as he is leaving for an overseas trip called  on the phone and congratulated the new board.
